On a day in 1995, in San Marcos, Texas when the breeze of the Texas Hill country was cool and
sweet, and the spirits of Aquarena Springs whispered, Heritage Handmade Soaps was born. My
soap is made in small batches, in small loaves and cut by hand; no two are alike. I air-dry them on
racks like the pioneers used to do years ago. There is no rushing the soap; nature must take its time
in the curing of them. When sufficiently kissed by the rich Texas air, I personally test each batch for
quality. If satisfied in the result, I hand wrap and label them for you to enjoy. My natural soap is a
cold process soap and as such will retain the glycerin which is produced. Commercially purchased
soaps often remove this product and sell it separately (at a higher price since it is the best part). As
such, the residue is what you purchase and essentially is a detergent bar. That is why your skin will
feel dry and itchy. I leave all the natural goodies in, just the way nature intended. We highly
advise the use of a soap saver to allow your soaps to air dry after usage thus prolonging the life of
the bar. Allowing handmade soap to sit for prolonged periods of time will cause it to mush.
Additionally, some soap contains botanicals or herbs, which we have identified as a “floatie.”
Sincerely, A.J.
